KYBELLA™ for Submental Fullness

About Submental Fullness

kybella_1-300x232 Kybella

  • Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin”, is a common yet undertreated facial aesthetic condition
  • Submental fullness can detract from an otherwise balanced and harmonious facial appearance – leading to an older and heavier look
  • According to a survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), more than two-thirds of consumers are bothered by submental fullness – nearly as many as those by lines and wrinkles around the eyes

Introducing KYBELLA™

kybella_2-300x232 Kybella

  • KYBELLA™ is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness
  • When injected into subcutaneous fat, KYBELLA™ causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat
  • Treatment with KYBELLA™ is customized by the physician to the patient’s aesthetic goals for an approved chin profile. Once the aesthetic response is achieved by KYBELLA™, re-treatment is not expected

What to Expect from Treatment

  • For most patients, downtime with KYBELLA™ was minimal and occurred most commonly after the first treatment session
  • The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area. These are not all the side effects of KYBELLA™. Talk to your doctor if you develop an asymmetrical smile, facial muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, or if any existing symptom worsens
  • Apply ice or a cold pack to the treatment area for 10 to 15 minutes as needed
  • Talk to your doctor if you have questions or concerns about managing side effects
